RESOLUTION NO. 980841

Honoring D. Ted Weis for his nearly 30 years of dedicated service upon the occasion of his retirement from the Water Services Department.

WHEREAS, Ted Weis has been an outstanding employee of Kansas City, Missouri for nearly 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Ted began his career as a staff engineer working on projects at the Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant and the 18th Street Complex; and

WHEREAS, Ted served five years as Chief of the Industrial Waste Control Division; and

WHEREAS, Ted was Manager of the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Section at the Water Treatment Plant for seven years; and

WHEREAS, Ted served as Manager of the Line Maintenance Division for eight years; and

WHEREAS, Ted was appointed Manager of the Engineering Services Division of the Water Services Department in 1993 and served there until his promotion to Assistant Director; and

WHEREAS, Ted has served with distinction as an Assistant Director of the Water Services Department since 1994; NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby honor and commend D. Ted Weis for his nearly 30 years of service to the Kansas City, Missouri Water Services Department; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy be presented to Ted Weis in token of the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for his many years of City service.
