RESOLUTION NO. 120639

 

Honoring Michael E. Claibourn on his retirement after 18 years and 11 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Michael started his career with the City on September 3, 1993 as an Electrical Technician working at Kemper Arena; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael held numerous inspection positions in the Water Services Department since 2000; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael has an Associate Degree in Electronics, with additional studies in Drafting; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael’s background includes electrical, plumbing, surveying, and construction; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael enjoys home remodeling and playing the guitar, keyboards, and drums for fun; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael is married to Barbara, has one son (Nathan) and one Daughter (Christina), and three grandchildren; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael looks forward to his retirement in order to relax playing golf and other outdoor sports, enjoy his grandchildren, and to pursue other interests; and

 

WHEREAS, July 31, 2012, will mark the last day of Michael’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. Michael E. Claibourn, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his 18 years and 11 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Michael E. Claibourn in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
