RESOLUTION NO. 100355

 

Honoring one hundred employers, volunteers and City staff for their contribution to the Bright Future Employment Program

WHEREAS, it requires the investment of all community stakeholders to engage young citizens; and

WHEREAS, partnering with the community is necessary to create change and improve the overall landscape of our City; and

WHEREAS, over one hundred businesses, volunteers and city personnel donated their time and resources to support the sixth annual Bright Future Employment Program on April 17, 2010, for Greater Kansas City residents; and

WHEREAS, the program accomplished a monumental success in employing 3,500 interns over a six year period within the private and public sector; and

WHEREAS, each stakeholder dedicated their time and resources to ensure residents were provided a meaningful internship in a variety of fields; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor, City Council and City Manager to recognize all of the invested partners present today in their desire to make the creation of a better City, County, State and Nation; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council here honor one hundred employers, volunteers and City staff for their contribution to the Bright Future Employment Program; and

BE IT RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to one hundred employers, volunteers and City staff with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for the positive influence and impact this group will have as it relates to changing the lives of citizens.
