ORDINANCE NO. 030513

Authorizing a one year $587,720.00 agreement with the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center to provide medical care to the Citys indigent citizens and authorizing the Director to retain and expend $23,509.00 from this agreement.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby the Center will provide medical care to the Citys indigent citizens for the period May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004, for which the City will pay $587,720.00 from funds provided in the 2003-2004 Budget, Ordinance No. 030239, in Account Nos. 04-100-051-2139-B ($58,922.00), 04-233-051-2139-B ($21,152.00) and 04-233-051-2139-F ($507,646.00), is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the amount of $23,509.00, as specified in the agreement, may be retained by the Health Department to partially offset the cost of administering the agreement and may be used in such manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
