COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 961127
Directing the City Manager to examine the feasibility of
establishing a Northland City Hall Services Office in the Clay County Annex
Building as well as a Southland City Hall Services Office.
WHEREAS, as the population of the City continues to
increase north of the Missouri River, it is incumbent upon the City to examine
the feasibility of establishing a Northland City Hall Services Office in this
location to better serve a significant segment of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Clay County Annex Building may be an
ideal building in which to house one division of Municipal Court, as well as an
office for various City services; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Manager's goal
of improving customer service, the Council also desires to investigate the
feasibility of establishing a similar facility for residents of the southern
districts; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the City Manager is hereby directed
to examine the feasibility of establishing a Northland City Hall Services
Office in the Clay County Annex Building which would contain one division of
Municipal Court, and an office for various City services as well as a Southland
City Hall Services Office.
Section B. That the City Manager is directed to
report his findings to the Council within ninety (90) days after passage of
this resolution.
