ORDINANCE NO. 040676

Authorizing the Director of Fire to enter into agreements with the jurisdictions listed below to provide fire suppression services.

WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Missouri Constitution and its implementing statutes, political subdivisions of this state may contract and cooperate with each other for a common service; and

WHEREAS, the cities and villages listed below want to pay an annual fee for fire suppression and related service in their jurisdictions and will maintain liability insurance coverage for Kansas City, Missouri, which has the facilities and capacity to provide such service to those areas; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Fire Department is hereby authorized to execute a twelve month agreement with each of the following jurisdictions to provide services within the boundaries of said jurisdictions for a fee based on the rate of $8.06 and $16.00 per $1,000.00 of real property value protected for fire suppression and full fire department services respectively. The term of this contract is May 1, 2004, through April 30, 2005. Copies of said agreements will be filed with the City Clerk.
