ORDINANCE NO. 180956

 

Authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to execute a contract amendment with Mark One Electric for Electrical Maintenance and Repair Services at various City-owned facilities with appropriated funds in the City Budget; authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to further amend the contract; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

WHEREAS, Section 3-41(a)(2), Code of Ordinances, requires the Manager of Procurement Services to obtain City Council authorization to enter into contracts that may exceed $1,000,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the General Services Department estimates the City will spend over $1,000,000.00 in Fiscal Year 2019; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute a contract amendment (Contract No. EV2533) with Mark One Electric for electrical services at various City-owned facilities with such funds that are appropriated in the City Budget. A copy of the amendment is on file in the Procurement Services Division.

 

Section 2. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute contract amendments to the contract with Mark One Electric and to exercise the City’s one or more additional one-year renewal options without Council authorization.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

The City has no financial obligation under both this Ordinance and Contract until the Manager of Procurement Services issues a Purchase Order which shall be signed by the City’s Director of Finance certifying there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment will be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation incurred in the Purchase Order.
