RESOLUTION NO. 040251
Recognizing many
individuals and companies for donating services for the New Westside Community
Action Network Office.
WHEREAS, Turner
Construction Company of Kansas City saw the need and the vision of the Westside
Community Action Network to meet the needs of the Westside Neighborhood and the
indigant day-labor community; and
WHEREAS,
Mid-Continent Mechanical, Diaz Construction, R.F. Fisher Electric, Stadium
Sheet Metal, cfm Distributors, Complete Drywall, Inc., Individual Assurance
Corp., BESCO, Bratton Corp., Ammon Painting Co., Tom Eatman,
Architect/PGAV, Kansas City Missouri Police Department, Vincent Amador,
Ezekiel Amador III, Westside Housing Organization, Inc., Joe Guerra, Strasser
Hardware, Inc., Martinez Auto Body, Single Source, Inc.- David Tinoco, Locker
Systems, Inc., Stephen P. Maslan & Co., Pyramid Plumbing Supplies, Kenton
Brothers Inc., Door Controls, Inc., Mid America Sign Contractors, Inc. and Mr.
Mat Co. donated professional services, time, labor, materials to rehabilitate a
blighted building on a gateway intersection to the Historic Westside
Neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ken
Winterowd, owner of 2136 Jefferson, donated the use of his building pro bono to
the Westside Community action Network for 5 years; and
WHEREAS, the
aforementioned businesses exhibit the best of community investment and
corporate responsibility to meet the needs of the Westside community and Kansas
City, Missouri, further enabling the Community Action Network Center and Kansas
City, Missouri, to provide essential services to its residents; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby recognize many individuals and companies for donating
services for the New Westside Community Action Network Office; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that copies hereof be given to each of the above-listed
individuals and company with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and
citizens of Kansas City for the many hours of service and dedication given to
the community.
