COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 140613

 

Determining the specific projects to be submitted to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) as applications for the 2014 Planning Sustainable Places Program.

 

WHEREAS, MARC, in its role as metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Greater Kansas City, is soliciting project proposals for 2014 Planning Sustainable Places Program Funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the source of funding is the Missouri Surface Transportation Program Livable Communities Pilot Planning Program (FFY 2015), and a total of $500,000.00 is available to Missouri jurisdictions and transportation agencies located within MARC's metropolitan planning boundary; and

 

WHEREAS, eligible project types for this call for projects will include, but are not limited to: (A) Sustainable Places Plans – development of localized small area and/or activity center plans that are intended to result in an integrated local vision supportive of land use, transportation, and environmental objectives; and (B) Transportation Implementation Activities – to help advance specific strategies and/or recommendations that have been developed through previous planning efforts; and

 

WHEREAS, all of these programs are reimbursement programs and each program is limited to a maximum of 80% federal share and requires a local match of at least 20% for any federal funds awarded to any project, and the maximum grant award per project is $120,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the list of projects to be submitted by the City of Kansas City, Missouri, upon receipt of local match funding confirmation, are as follows:

 

Independence Avenue Zoning Overlay

Marlborough Village Placemaking

Cerner Housing/Connectivity

Waldo Streetscape – 75th & Wornall Study

Twin Creeks

Waldo Streetscape – Pedestrian Improvements

 

Section 2. That the list of projects to be submitted by other jurisdictions or agencies in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is as follows:

 

Clay County Trails, submitted by Clay County
