ORDINANCE NO. 940109
Authorizing a technical services agreement with Centurion
Electronics Service for Project No. 282-93024-5 for emergency flood damage
repairs to the sound system at the American Royal Arena Facility and the
expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $75,182.00
therefor and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, the Council finds and determines that this
ordinance to authorize emergency sound system repairs for the American Royal Arena
Facility because of flood damage incurred in June, 1993 is necessary for the
immediate preservation of public property and safety within the meaning of
Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the work of providing emergency
repairs to the sound system at the American Royal Arena Facility, 1701 American
Royal Court, Kansas City, Missouri is hereby provided for and authorized.
Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to enter into an emergency technical services agreement for
sound system repairs at the American Royal Arena Facility with Centurion
Electronics Service in the amount of $75,182.00 which agreement is hereby
approved and confirmed. The said agreement shall be essentially in the form
which is attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to expend the sum of $75,182.00 from funds heretofore
appropriated to Account No. 94-100-089-2992B as and for consideration in the
aforementioned emergency technical services agreement.
Section 4. That this ordinance, being for the
immediate preservation of public property and safety, is hereby declared to be
an emergency under the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter and
shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
