ORDINANCE NO. 110856

 

 

Authorizing the Director of the Water Services Department to purchase approximately three parcels of land from Universal Land Development Company, L.P., for a sodium hypochlorite handling facility located at 7601 E. Front Street, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; and recognizing an emergency.

 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a contract with Universal Land Development Company, L.P., for the acquisition of real estate located at 7601 E. Front Street, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. The land to be purchased is legally described in the contract.

 

Section 2. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized to expend $950,000.00 from Account No. 12-8110-807726-E-631980, Construction Division.

Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
