ORDINANCE NO. 970984

 

Authorizing contracts with several agencies pursuant to the HUD Emergency Shelter Grant Program to provide services to the homeless; and reducing appropriation.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services Department is hereby authorized to execute contracts with the following agencies in their respective amounts to provide services to the homeless from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 98-100-057-2017B. The contracts are approved, in substantial form, as that on file with the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services:

 

Community Housing Network $ 17,500.00 Don Bosco Center 15,000.00 Guadalupe Center, Inc. 23,050.00 Housing Information Center 23,700.00 LINC 7,500.00 Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries 29,400.00 NEWHOUSE 23,500.00 Northland Homes Partnership 12,000.00 reStart, Inc. 35,500.00 Rose Brooks Shelter 21,300.00 SafeHaven 11,740.00 The Salvation Army 18,000.00 SAVE, Foundation 24,460.00 TOTAL $262,650.00

 

Section 2. That the appropriation in the following account of the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

 

98-100-057-2017-B HUD Emergency Shelter Grant $ 8,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
