ORDINANCE NO. 000470

 

Approving certain revisions to the Urban Renewal Plan for the Town Fork Creek Urban Renewal Area by including 14 additional parcels for acquisition, subject to certain findings and conditions, which urban renewal area is generally bounded by 49th Terrace on the north, 59th Street on the south, Prospect Avenue on the west and Cleveland Avenue on the east. WHEREAS, by passage of Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 34950, passed March 8, 1968, the City Council approved a general urban renewal plan and the feasibility of relocation for the Town Fork Creek Urban Renewal Area, a copy of which was filed with the City Clerk; and

 

WHEREAS, the Town Fork Creek Urban Renewal Plan was amended on July 27, 1995, by the passage of Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 950848; and

 

WHEREAS, because of planning and other considerations, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, has considered it necessary and desirable to amend the Urban Renewal Plan for the Town Fork Creek Urban Renewal Area to provide for the inclusion of 14 additional parcels for acquisition which urban renewal area is generally bounded by 49th Terrace on the north, 59th Street on the south, Prospect Avenue on the west and Cleveland Avenue on the east; and

 

WHEREAS, a copy of said revision has been filed with the City Clerk; and

 

WHEREAS, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority has approved a resolution setting forth the amendments to the Urban Renewal Plan, a copy of said resolution is incorporated as part of said amended plan; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission on November 16, 1999, reviewed the revisions to the Urban Renewal Plan, found said plan to be in conformity with the Master Plan for the development of the City as a whole and recommended approval of the amendment by resolution to incorporate 14 additional parcels in the acquisition category, a copy of which resolution is attached hereto and is incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A"; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That certain revisions to the Town Fork Creek Urban Renewal Area, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk under Document No. 000470, and which is incorporated herein by reference, are hereby approved.

 

Section 2. That the amendment provides for the incorporation of 14 additional tract of land to the acquisition category, more specifically described as follows:

 

5209 Chestnut: The south 90 feet of the north 209.25 feet of the west one-half of Block 3, Corder & Boyds Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 


5219 Chestnut: The west 138.95 feet of south 100 feet of the north 309.25 feet of Block 3, Corder & Boyds Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5233 Chestnut (Rec as 5208) C: The north 12 feet of Lot 19 and all of Lots 20 and 21, Graham Plaza Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5300 South Benton: The north one-half of Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 2, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5313 Chestnut: Lot 7 and the north 20 feet of Lot 8, Block 2, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5412 South Benton: Lots 24 and 25, Block 7, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5414 South Benton: Lot 23, Block 7, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5416 South Benton: Lot 22, Block 7, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5418 South Benton: Lot 21, Block 7, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5436 South Benton: Lot 20, Block 7, Mozier Place Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

3107 East 53rd Street: Lots 7-10, Dunbar Park, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5539 College: The north one-half of the west one-half of Lot 6, High Acres Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri;

 

5611 College: The south 50 feet of the west one-half of Lot 9, High Acres Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; and

 

5532 College: Lot 19, High Acres Subdivision, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.

 

Section 3. That it is hereby found and determined that all of the findings, determinations, and conclusions made and set forth in Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 34950, passed March 8, 1968, which approved the Urban Renewal Plan, and Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 950848, passed July 27, 1995, which amended said plan for the purpose of including additional parcels under the acquisition category and incorporating certain standards, apply with equal force and effect to the area as of the date of this revision.

 

Section 4. That said Urban Renewal Plan, as revised, is hereby found to be feasible and in conformity with the Master Plan for the development of the community as a whole.
