ORDINANCE NO. 180497

 

Authorizing Change Order No. 11 with Collins & Hermann, Inc., in the amount of $11,310.00 for CBD Wayfinding Signage Construction; and recognizing an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, on July 26, 2012, the Director of Public Works authorized a multi-year contract for the installation, repair and removal of signs and posts with Collins & Hermann, Inc., totaling $819,832.57 for the Project; and

WHEREAS, Change Order No. 11 is needed to compensate the contractor for removing, reinstalling and repairing signs and posts along westbound Interstate 70, and will extend the completion date to March 19, 2019; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to execute Change Order No. 11 for $11,310.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 19-3090-898401for Project No. 89004697 - Wayfinding Signage with Collins & Hermann, Inc., for additional construction work, bringing the total contract amount to $921,429.24 and the completion date to March 19, 2019. A copy of the change order is on file in the Public Works Department.

Section 2. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
