ORDINANCE NO. 110510
Authorizing the Director of
Neighborhood and Community Services to enter into a contract with Legal Aid of
Western Missouri in the amount of $130,095.00 to provide certain legal
March 3, 2011, the City Council adopted Committee Substitute for Resolution No.
110088 which approved staff recommendations for Community Development Block
Grant funding in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2011 One
Year Action Plan in accordance with the National Affordable Housing Act of
1990, as amended, which authorized submission of the Plan to the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development and which certified the Plan;
submitted Plan was based upon estimated funding levels which were higher than
the amounts actually allocated by HUD; and
Resolution No. 110446, currently pending before the Planning, Zoning and
Economic Development Committee, seeks authority to submit an amendment of the
Plan to HUD to rectify the funding amounts; and
of the lesser amount of funding allocated by HUD, the amount of the contract
within this ordinance has changed from the original recommendations that were
submitted to HUD; and
authorization is required from the City Council in order for the Director to
enter into contracts; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
Section 1. That the Director of
Neighborhood and Community Services is hereby authorized to expend and execute
a contract with Legal Aid of Western Missouri in the amount of $130,095.00 to
provide legal services from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 12-2600-575317-B.
The contract is approved, in substantial form as that on file with the Director
of Neighborhood and Community Services.
I hereby certify that
there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
