RESOLUTION NO. 961478

Directing the City Manager to determine the feasibility of utilizing the old federal building located at 911 Walnut for additional office space for City Hall.

WHEREAS, the old federal building located at 911 Walnut has been vacated by the federal government; and

WHEREAS, the building is in a prime location in downtown Kansas City, has recently been placed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is in remarkably good condition; and

WHEREAS, City Hall is in need of additional office space near City Hall; and

WHEREAS, the Council desires to consider all feasible alternatives in addressing the City's need for additional office space; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the City Manager is directed to determine the feasibility of utilizing the old federal building located at 911 Walnut for additional office space for City Hall and to report his findings to the Council within 60 days of the passage of this resolution.
