Congratulating the Kansas City Attack Professional Soccer Team on winning the 1996-97 National Professional Soccer League Championship.

WHEREAS, the Kansas City Attack won the NPSL Championship by sweeping the Cleveland Crunch 4 games to 0 of a best-of-seven-series; and

WHEREAS, the Kansas City Attack has now won the NPSL Championship twice in five years. The first professional sports team in Kansas City to win two League Championships; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are extremely proud of the achievement of the Kansas City Attack, and thank the team for bringing high quality professional soccer to Kansas City; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council congratulate the Kansas City Attack on winning the 1996-97 National Professional Soccer League Championship; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to Owner Don Kincaid, Vice-President and General Manager Zoran Savic, and Head Coach Jim Schwab in token of the great pride and pleasure afforded the Council by the outstanding accomplishment of the Kansas City Attack.
