ORDINANCE NO. 941384

 

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement amending the current HIV/AIDS services contract with the Good Samaritan Project to increase funding by $29,375.00 from $57,333.00 to $86,708.00 and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That an amendment to the current contract funded from Account No. 94-273-050-2440-B and previously approved by Ordinance No. 940104, between the City, acting through its Director of Health, and the Good Samaritan Project, acting through its Executive Director, whereby Good Samaritan will provide sensitive and effective emergency assistance to persons who have tested positive for HIV/AIDS is hereby authorized and the contract amount is hereby increased by $29,375.00 from $57,333.00 to $86,708.00.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
