COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 041260

Approving the preparation and submission of an application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA), as amended, for a $1,000,000 Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Grant and five $200,000 Brownfield Cleanup Grants.

WHEREAS, the Brownfields Commission has considered and approved the submission of an application for Brownfields funding for the Richards-Gebaur, Beacon Hills and Riverfront Park projects

WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved a proposal to submit such a grant application; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the application for a $1,000,000 Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Grant and five $200,000 Brownfield Cleanup Grants for properties located at the Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base and the Beacon Hill Redevelopment Project area, a copy of which in substantial form is attached hereto, is hereby approved;

Section 2. That the Chairman of the Port Authority is hereby authorized to execute and submit this application to the Environmental Protection Agency
