ORDINANCE NO. 980753
Authorizing
the Director of Environmental Management to terminate a current lease agreement
with K.C. Partners and authorizing a one year $98,945.52 lease agreement with
K.C. Partners for office space rental at 324 East 11th Street.
WHEREAS,
the City leases certain space known as Suite 1800 at a current rental rate of
$6,445.46 per month in the Oak Tower Building located at 324 East 11th Street,
Kansas City, Missouri; and
WHEREAS,
the City is desirous of leasing additional office space, Suite 1220 with an
additional cost of $1,800.00 per month in the Oak Tower Building located at 324
East 11th Street, Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE
IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That the Director of Environmental Management is hereby authorized to
execute, on behalf of City, a Termination of Lease Agreement with K.C. Partners
for office space located in the Oak Tower Building located at Suite 1800, 324
East 11th Street. A copy of the Termination of Lease Agreement shall
substantially conform to the copy which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof by reference.
Section
2. That the Director of Environmental Management is authorized to execute, on
behalf of City, a Lease Agreement, with K.C. Partners for approximately 10,060
square feet of office space located at the Oak Tower Building, Suites 1800 and
1220, 324 East 11th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, for one year beginning July
1, 1998, with four one-year options to renew, for a total lease amount of
$98,945.52 for the term to be paid from funds previously appropriated in
Account No. 99-100-085-1000-B, to house the Environmental Management
Department. A copy of the Lease Agreement shall substantially conform to the
copy which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit
of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
hereby incurred.
