ORDINANCE NO. 960390
Authorizing a $102,498.00 agreement with the Northland
Health Care Access to provide medical care for the City's indigent for one year
from funds provided in the 1996-97 Budget by Ordinance No. 960338; retaining
$4,100.00 to partially offset the cost of administering the agreement; and
recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That an agreement between the City,
acting through its Director of Health, and the Northland Health Care Access, a
Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby Northland will provide medical
care for the City's indigent for the period of May 1, 1996 through April 30,
1997, for which the City will pay $102,498.00 from funds provided in the
1996-97 Budget, Ordinance No. 960338, in the following account and amount, is
hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That the amount of $4,100.00, as
specified in the agreement, may be retained by the Health Department to
partially offset the cost of administering the agreement and may be used in such
manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.
Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision
for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public
health, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of
Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and
shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
