ORDINANCE NO. 160617

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into a Road Relinquishment Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) for the purpose of transferring ownership and maintenance of a certain portion of the highway from the MHTC to the City.

WHEREAS, the MHTC owns and operates the portion of North Ambassador Drive lying northerly of Route 152 approximately 0.067 miles in the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, the City needs to utilize this portion of North Ambassador Drive for access to a planned development; and

WHEREAS, MHTC agrees to relinquish the portion of North Ambassador Drive to the City and the City agrees to accept the portion of North Ambassador Drive as part of City’s system; and

WHEREAS, the City proposes to maintain, construct, reconstruct, or otherwise modify the portion of North Ambassador Drive in order to connect to adjacent properties; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into a Road Relinquishment Agreement for the purpose of transferring ownership and maintenance of a portion of North Ambassador Drive from the MHTC to the City. A copy of the agreement is on file in the Public Works Director’s Office.
