ORDINANCE NO. 210069

Authorizing the Director of the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department to execute a contract with Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri (“LCRA”) in the amount of $15,000.00 for the purpose of performing a blight study for the Santa Fe Neighborhood Urban Renewal Plan.

WHEREAS, the City desires to procure an update of a blight study for potential use of eminent domain and accompanying revisions to the Santa Fe Neighborhood Urban Renewal Plan; and

WHEREAS, the blight study shall document the existing conditions of the subject properties generally located at Prospect Avenue on the west, Indiana Avenue on the east, 27th Street on the north and Linwood Boulevard on the south; and

WHEREAS, the blight study will consider the existing physical, environmental, and economic conditions within the designated area and separately consider whether or not the area meets the criteria for designation as a “blighted area” under state law; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri (“LCRA”) in the amount of $15,000.00 for the purpose of performing a blight study for the Santa Fe Neighborhood Urban Renewal Plan from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 21-2570-572349-B.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
