RESOLUTION NO. 030090

 

Directing the City Auditor to perform an audit of the contracts between Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust and other cities and to evaluate the financial viability of MAST.

 

WHEREAS,. The provision of emergency medical response services is essential to Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council is vitally interested in the financial viability of the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST) which has contracted with Emergency Providers, Inc. (EPI) to provide these services to Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, MASTs contracts with other cities should be reviewed to determine their impact on MASTs financial status; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Auditor is hereby directed to perform an audit of the contracts between Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust and other cities for emergency medical response services to determine the impact of those contracts on the services provided by MAST to the City and to evaluate financial viability of MAST as a going concern.
