ORDINANCE NO. 951246

 

Authorizing the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services to execute contracts not to exceed a total of $90,000.00 with the members of the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic Violence for operation of shelters for battered persons.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is authorized to execute contracts not to exceed a total of $90,000.00 with the members of the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic Violence for operation of shelters for battered persons, from funds previously appropriated as follows in Account No. 96-247-057-2005:

 

Rose Brooks Center $27,900.00 Hope House, Incorporated $18,900.00 SafeHaven of Kansas City, Inc. $18,000.00 NEWHOUSE $25,200.00

 

Section 2. That the total amount of the City's obligation under this contract shall be distributed quarterly among the above four agencies pursuant to a formula based on bed nights provided to Kansas City residents by each agency per quarter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
