RESOLUTION NO. 980714

 

Declaring June 19, 1998, as City-Wide Casual Day.

 

WHEREAS, since 1947, United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Kansas City has provided vital programs and services to children and adults with disabilities and their families; and

 

WHEREAS, on City-Wide Casual Day, employers will allow their employees to come to work in casual clothes in exchange for a suggested $5.00 donation to support United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, all proceeds generated locally from this event are used to provide programs and services to children and adults with cerebral palsy and similar service needs who receive services from United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, with your help, United Cerebral Palsy can, through City-Wide Casual Day, continue to support and advance the independence of people with disabilities who reside in the Greater Kansas City area; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby declare June 19, 1998, as City-Wide Casual Day; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Bruce Scott, President/CEO of Open Options, Inc.-United Cerebral Palsy, in appreciation of the dedication, support and services provided to children and adults with cerebral palsy and other development disabilities in our community.
