ORDINANCE NO. 031146

Authorizing acceptance of a Title V Community Prevention Grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety; estimating revenue in the amount of $100,000.00 in the General Fund; appropriating it to the REDIRECT Grant account of the General Fund; designating requisitioning authority; authorizing execution of a $100,000.00 Cooperative Agreement with the Pan-Educational Institute, Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocate and Mattie Rhodes Counseling Center for the project REDIRECT juvenile crime prevention program; and directing the City Clerk to file the agreement with the appropriate offices.

WHEREAS, the City has a desire to cooperate with community organizations in their efforts to reduce juvenile crime and provide an extensive array of social, therapeutic, academic, job readiness and career counseling services; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City of Kansas City, Missouri Neighborhood and Community Services Department hereby accepts from the Missouri Department of Public Safety a Title V Community Prevention Grant in the amount of $100,000.00.

Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the General Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

04-100-057-7185 MO DPS Youth Crime Prevention Grant $100,000.00

Section 3. That the sum of $100,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

04-100-057-2062 REDIRECT Grant $100,000.00

Section 4. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 04-100-057-2062.

Section 5. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a $100,000.00 Cooperative Agreement with Pan-Educational Institute, Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocate and Mattie Rhodes Counseling Center for the project REDIRECT juvenile crime prevention program.

Section 6. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of this Cooperative Agreement with the office of the Secretary of State of Missouri and with the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson County, Missouri, pursuant to RSMo Section 70.300 (1994).
