RESOLUTION NO. 180997

 

Honoring Denise Burkett on her retirement after 29 years and 6 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Denise’s entire tenure has been with the Water Services Department beginning on June 5, 1989; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise has held positions such as Engineering Aide in the Wastewater Treatment Division from 1989-1993, Pretreatment Coordinator/Graduate Engineer in the Industrial Waste Division from 1993-2000, Environmental Compliance/Registered Engineer in the Industrial Waste Division from 2000-2008, Environmental Compliance/Registered Engineer in the Laboratory Services Division from 2008-2013, and Environmental Compliance/Registered Engineer in the Stormwater Division and Regulatory Compliance Divisions; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, her Professional Engineer license, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Certified Hazardous Materials Management, and numerous environmental quality awards while working for the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise looks forward to retirement to relax and volunteer; and

 

WHEREAS, December 31, 2018, will mark the last day of Denise’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Ms. Denise Burkett, on the occasion of her retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 29 years and 6 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution is spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Denise Burkett in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard, and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which she so richly deserves.
