ORDINANCE NO. 100336

 

Authorizing a legal services agreement with Spradley & Riesmeyer in the amount of $200,000.00; appropriating $200,000.00 to the KC Airports Fund; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to execute a legal services agreement with Spradley & Riesmeyer, Kansas City, Missouri, a professional corporation, in the amount of $200,000.00 for representation of the City in BBA U.S. Holdings, et al. v. City of Kansas City, Missouri, et. al. filed in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri from funds appropriated herein.

Section 2. Appropriating $200,000 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of Fund 8300 KC Airports Fund to Account No. 10-8300-622100-B-610240, Legal Services, $200,000.00. A copy of the agreement is on file in the City Clerk’s Office.

Section 3. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503(a)3(c) of the City Charter in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
