RESOLUTION NO. 970881
Authorizing the Director of City Development to proceed
with the acquisition, relocation and site clearance activities for property in
the East 23rd Street Urban Renewal Area, James I. Threatt Addition, generally
located at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Bernard Powell Drive.
WHEREAS, the City has previously authorized the
expenditure of funds for the acquisition of two parcels located within the
James I. Threatt Addition; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, through the passage of
Ordinance No. 951351, authorized the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with
the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority ("LCRA") and
authorized the expenditure of $120,000.00 for property acquisition, relocation
and site clearance activities for property generally located at 1715 Cleveland
Avenue and 3810-22 Bernard Powell Drive; and
WHEREAS, said Cooperative Agreement required that
LCRA perform the services and complete the work anticipated in the Agreement by
May 31, 1997; and
WHEREAS, said Cooperative Agreement has now expired
and the City Council desires the work to be completed by the City; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Director of the Department of City
Development is hereby authorized to proceed with acquisition, relocation and
site clearance activities on property generally located at 1715 Cleveland
Avenue and 3810-22 Bernard Powell Drive, more specifically described as:
1715 Cleveland Avenue: Lots 5 thru 11 except the
south 15 feet of Lot 9 and the south 15 feet of the west 13.17 feet of Lot
10, Redfield Place, a subdivision lying in Kansas City, Jackson County,
Missouri; and
3810-22 Bernard Powell Drive: Lots 12 thru 16,
except that part in Bernard Powell Drive, Redfield Place, a subdivision
lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.
