COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 980335

 

Authorizing the City Attorney to enter into a contract with Spencer Fane Britt and Browne, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, for legal services; reducing the appropriation in a City Development account by $10,460.79; and appropriating it for this contract.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City with Spencer Fane Britt and Browne, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, for legal services. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto.

 

Section 2. That the appropriation in the following account of the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

 

98-100-064-2310-B Area Plans and Annexations $10,460.79

 

Section 3. That the sum of $14,539.21 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

 

98-100-013-1550-B Legal Services - Negotiations $14,539.21

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
