RESOLUTION NO. 970046

 

Amending the South Development Area Plan by amending the Proposed Land Use Map in an area generally located 2,800 feet west of I-435 and north of 87th Street from residential use to light industrial use.

 

WHEREAS, on January 15, 1971, City Council by Ordinance No. 38861 adopted the South Development Area Plan being the Plan for development and redevelopment of that area bounded by 85th Street on the north, Cass County line on the south, Lee's Summit city limits on the east and State Line on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, said Plan further has been amended by Resolution No. 62808, adopted September 8, 1988; by Resolution No. 62713, adopted February 2, 1989; by Resolution No. 900405, adopted October 25, 1990; by Resolution No. 930894, adopted September 30, 1993; by Resolution No. 940780, adopted July 14, 1994; and by Resolution No. 941542, adopted December 7, 1994; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review by the City Development Department it has been deemed appropriate to amend the South Development Area Plan as it affects that area located 2,800 feet west of I-435 and north of 87th Street to modify the Proposed Land Use Plan for such area from residential use to light industrial use; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of a hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on December 16, 1996; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Map on January 7, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on January 7, 1997, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the South Development Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the South Development Area Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Map for that area generally located 2,800 feet west of I-435 and north of 87th Street to modify the proposed uses from residential uses to light industrial uses, as provided on the Proposed Land Use Map attached hereto.

 

Section B. That all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
