Recognizing the International
Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City as host to the Open World Program of
the Library of Congress that has enabled some
16,000 current and future Eurasian leaders to experience American democracy,
civil society and community life; work with their American counterparts; and
commending the Delegates from Serbia who are in Kansas City examining the topic
“Higher Education”.
WHEREAS, Ms.
Kristina Radula Andelic, Senior Associate for Scientific - Expert Councils,
University of Nis, is studying U.S. practices of administration of higher
education; and
WHEREAS, Ms.
Milena Radovan Dimitrijevic Program Associate, University of Belgrade, Center
for Career Development and Student Counseling, is learning about world trends
in higher education; and
WHEREAS, Mr.
Radoslav Ljubisa Erakovic Associate Professor, University of Novi Sad, School
of Philosophy, Department of Serbian Language and Literature, is advancing
knowledge about curriculum and modernizing programs in higher education; and
WHEREAS Mr.
Pavle Marko Ivetic Expert Associate, University of Belgrade, Office of
International Affairs, will compare and contrast university systems and student
exchange programs; and
WHEREAS Ms.
Mirjana Milan Tankosic, Rector's Advisor for Public Relations, Marketing and
Communications, Megatrend University, School of Business, will endeavor to seek
international cooperation with study abroad programs; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That
the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the Delegation from Serbia on the Open
World Program of the Library of Congress, administered by the International
Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City and commend the Delegates for their
research and hard work in expanding higher education in Serbia; and
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council
in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to each of the
Delegates from Serbia.
