ORDINANCE NO. 180228

 

Authorizing a First Amended Water Purchase Agreement with Northwest Cass County Water Resource District of Missouri; extending the term; and establishing an effective date.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 051142 on September 29, 2005, authorizing a Water Purchase Agreement between Kansas City, Missouri, and Public Water Supply District No. 6 of Cass County, Missouri, which is now known as the Northwest Cass County Water Resource District; and

 

WHEREAS, Northwest Cass County Water Resource District’s Board has approved the First Amended Water Purchase Agreement with Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the parties to amend their Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a First Amended Water Purchase Agreement for water service between Kansas City, Missouri, and Northwest Cass County Water Resource District, which will extend the term of the agreement, increase the amount of water provided, provide for improvements necessary to support the new agreement, remove certain storage requirements, and allow for sewer improvements for the Village of Loch Lloyd. A copy of the amendment is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.
