RESOLUTION NO. 160456

 

Determining the specific projects to be submitted to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) as applications for the 2017 Planning Sustainable Places Program.

 

WHEREAS, MARC, in its role as metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Greater Kansas City, is soliciting project proposals for 2017 Planning Sustainable Place Program Funding; and

 

WHEREAS, the source of funding is the Missouri Surface Transportation Program Livable Communities Pilot Planning Program (FFY 2017), and a total of $600,000.00 is available to Missouri jurisdictions and transportation agencies located within MARC’s metropolitan planning boundary; and

 

WHEREAS, each program is limited to a maximum of 80% federal share and requires a local cash match of at least 20% for any federal funds awarded to any project and the maximum grant award per project is $150,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the list of projects to be submitted by the City of Kansas City, Missouri, upon receipt of local match funding confirmation, are as follows:

 

Nexus Study / Trails Fee

Independence Pedestrian Safety Improvements Study

Troost Ave & Prospect Ave ROW Enhancement Plans

Riverfront Industrial Transportation & Economic Development Study

Chouteau Parkway / Greenway

Gillham Corridor Bike Connections

Truman Rd Complete Street Study

Brush Creek Corridor Pedestrian Safety & Connectivity Study

Midtown Streets Analysis

 

Section 2. That the list of projects to be submitted by other jurisdictions or agencies in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is as follows:

 

US-71 Corridor (51st to 75th)

NKC Trail Connection (Chouteau to NKC)
