ORDINANCE NO. 060222

 

Authorizing execution of a Relinquishment of Outer Roadway Agreement between the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (Commission) and the City of Kansas City, Missouri (City); authorizing execution of quitclaim deeds for real property, in connection with improvements for downtown Kansas City, Missouri; and declaring an emergency.

 

Whereas in consideration of the mutual covenants, promises and representations in said agreement, the Commission will relinquish a portion of the state highway system to the City. Said portion located north of I-670 from Baltimore Avenue on the west to Cherry Street on the east.

 

Whereas the Commission shall convey by separate quit claim deeds to the City portions of said state highway. The City agrees to accept the deeds from the Commission.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Manager, or his authorized agents is hereby authorized to execute and deliver a relinquishment of outer roadway agreement, in substantial form as that attached to this ordinance, providing for the transfer of state highway system property to the City.

Section 2. That the City Manager or his authorized agents is hereby authorized to accept quit claim deeds from said Commission and to record such deeds in the Jackson County office of the recorder of deeds.

Section 3. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provision of Section 15, Article II of the Charter of Kansas City and shall take effect immediately upon passage.
