RESOLUTION NO. 040374

Authorizing an application to the Missouri Development Finance Board (MDFB) for the preliminary authorization of state tax credits in an amount not to exceed $30,000,000.00 to support fund-raising efforts for construction of a maintenance facility for American Airlines.

WHEREAS, the Council intends to provide a wide variety of employment opportunities for the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Council supports American Airlines in its efforts to renovate the former TWA overhaul base and surrounding facilities at the Kansas City International Airport for one of their three major maintenance facilities.

Section 2. That this renovation effort is a unique opportunity to create approximately 2000 jobs and renovate a 50 year old, underused facility.

Section 3. That the Council authorizes an application in an amount not to exceed $30,000,000.00 to the Missouri Development Finance Boards Tax Credit for Contribution Program to finance the renovation of the former TWA overhaul base and surround facilities to accommodate the proposed American Airlines maintenance facility.
