RESOLUTION NO. 120921
Honoring
Tina Weatherspoon as a Rich Noll Pacesetter for October, 2012.
WHEREAS, the
Rich Noll Pacesetter Award has been established to honor City employees who
provide excellent service to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, the
Rich Noll Pacesetter Award is named after Rich Noll, who worked for the City of
Kansas City in a variety of capacities over his 26 year career and always
exemplified the best attributes of City government in those capacities
including customer service, responsiveness, timeliness and teamwork; and
WHEREAS, Tina
Weatherspoon is an Executive Assistant in the Water Services Department; and
WHEREAS, Tina
was put in a bad position when a few weeks before the Governance Summit, which
is a full day of training offered to approximately 100 board members and
executive staff of non-profit agencies receiving funding from the City, was to
happen, the staff coordinator for the event resigned and all of the final
details were given to Tina to finish; and
WHEREAS, the
tasks included on-line registration for approximately 100 participants,
arranging for food/snacks/beverages, coordinating with 13 speakers, putting
together a seminar handout and getting copies made, and handling last minute
details and emergencies on the day of the event; and
WHEREAS, Tina
did an outstanding job and not only stepped up to the challenge, she surpassed
all expectations; and
WHEREAS, Tina
was courteous, conscientious, skillful and businesslike while working to put on
this Summit; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby recognize Tina Weatherspoon as a Rich Noll Pacesetter for
the month of October, 2012; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Tina Weatherspoon with
the thanks of the Mayor and Council for her dedication and service to the
citizens of Kansas City, Missouri.
