ORDINANCE NO. 960688

 

Authorizing the Director of Health to exercise an option to renew a lease agreement between the City and Ralph Engelstad, Ltd., d/b/a Location #1, for a term of six months at a monthly rate of $700.00 for office, utilities, and parking for a space located at 1734 East 63rd Street, Suite 510, approximately 705 square feet, commencing on June 1, 1996 through December 31, 1996; authorizing the Director of the Health Department to exercise the right to extend the lease on a month to month basis after December 31, 1996.

 

WHEREAS, the City, pursuant to Ordinance No. 910435 adopted on April 18, 1991, authorized the Director of Health to enter into a lease agreement for a term of five years with an option to renew for three periods of one additional year each; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires to continue utilizing 705 square feet of office space and at least four parking spaces for use by the Health Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Health is authorized to exercise an option to renew, on behalf of the City, its lease agreement previously executed June 1, 1991, and incorporated herein, whereby the City leases from Ralph Engelstad, Ltd., d/b/a Location #1, approximately 705 square feet of office space situated in a building located at 1734 East 63rd Street, Suite 510, and at least four parking spaces. The expenses shall be appropriated from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 97-100-050-1140-B.

 

Section 2. That said agreement shall commence on June 1, 1996 and end December 31, 1996, at a monthly rent of $700.00 per month and shall maintain the right to renew the agreement on a month to month basis upon January 1, 1997.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
