RESOLUTION NO. 140139

 

Amending the Westport Land Use Plan for an approximately 0.74 acre site generally located at the northwest corner of E. 37th Street and Gillham Road from One/Two family Residential to  Multifamily Residential, Medium Density. (132-S-39)

 

WHEREAS, on August 11, 1972, the City Council through the adoption of Resolution No. 41438 which approved the Westport Planning Area Plan as a plan for future development within an area generally bounded on the north by 31st Street Trafficway, on the west by State Line Road, on the south by Ward Parkway and on the east by Troost Avenue; and

WHEREAS, due to certain changes, it is desirable to modify certain components of the Westport Planning Area Plan by an amendment to the Land Use Plan and Map as it affects an approximately 0.74 acre site generally located at the northwest corner of E. 37th Street and Gillham Road from One/Two family Residential to Multifamily Residential, Medium Density; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of a hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on January 5, 2014; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Land Use Plan and Map on January 21, 2014; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on January 21, 2014, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Westport Planning Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Westport Planning Area Plan is hereby amended by repealing the Land Use Plan and Map and approving a new Land Use Plan and Map which changes the recommended land uses for an 0.74 acre site generally located at the northwest corner of E. 37th Street and Gillham Road from One/Two family Residential to Multifamily Residential, Medium Density.
