ORDINANCE NO. 070074

Authorizing the Director of City Development to enter into a lease agreement with Construction Craft Academy, Building 940, located at Richards-Gebaur for a period of five years.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of City Development is authorized to enter into a lease agreement with Construction Craft Academy for the purpose of operating a trade school for a term of the initial lease for 5 years, with three 2-year renewal options for the lease upon mutual consent of owner and tenant with the rent during the five year term being $14,360.60 annually provided tenant make certain repairs and upgrades to the building in the amount of $380,000.00 with the cost of these repairs and upgrades being amortized over the initial five year period.

Section 2. During the renewal periods and in the event the proposed upgrades and repairs are not completed during the initial five year lease period, rent shall be in the amount of $89,766.25 annually.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
