ORDINANCE NO. 030217

Authorizing execution of a Lease Agreement with Habitat for Humanity/Kansas City, Inc., for the rental of real property located at 4701 Deramus.

WHEREAS, the premises shall continue to be used for the purpose of a collection and distribution facility for used, surplus and salvaged building materials including appliances and will continue to be a resale outlet for these items and serve as a fundraiser for lower income house building by the organization; and

WHEREAS, the agreement shall commence on March 1, 2003, and the agreement shall terminate on December 31, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity/Kansas City, Inc., shall pay to the City $3,00.00 monthly plus 6% of annual sales over $300,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Department of City Development is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a Lease Agreement with Habitat for Humanity/Kansas City, Inc., for rental of real property located at 4701 Deramus for the purpose of a collection and distribution facility for used, surplus and salvaged building materials for a period of approximately four years beginning March 1, 2003 and terminating December 31, 2006, with Habitat for Humanity paying the City a base rent of $3,000.00 plus an additional 6% over annual sales exceeding $300,000.00.
