RESOLUTION NO. 160305

 

Honoring Delores Jackson, Senior Administrative Assistant, on her retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri after 18 years of dedicated service.

 

WHEREAS, Delores Jackson began her career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri at the Small Business Development Division and the Small Business Incubator – formerly located in the Historic 18th & Vine District. She enthusiastically assisted entrepreneurs, small businesses and local residents become certified and gain equal access to opportunities on local and federally funded construction projects and Section 3 employment; and

 

WHEREAS, Delores served the public sector for over 45 years at Early Childhood Education, at the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri (where she was responsible for certifying families for housing subsidies and ensuring that they had a decent and safe place to live) and the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, Delores is retiring as a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Human Relations Department of the City of Kansas City, Missouri where she has departed wisdom and a wealth of knowledge to both her co-workers and all who have received services through the Section 3 Office now located at the Robert J. Mohart Center; and

 

WHEREAS, Delores, the youngest of two children born to Juanita and Lafayette Broughton, known as “Cookie” to family and friends, looks forward to her retirement and spending quality time with her mother, four children (Donnell Jackson, Chanita Roebuck, Sherrita Roland and Joel Bowens) six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, family and friends; and

 

WHEREAS, April 27, 2016, will mark the last day of Delores Jackson’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Ms. Delores Jackson, on the occasion of her retirement from City service, the best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 18 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to her in token of the Mayor and Council’s high esteem for Ms. Jackson’s work and best wishes for a long and happy retirement, which she so richly deserves.
