RESOLUTION NO. 200184

 

Approving an update to the Martin City Area Plan as a guide for the future development, redevelopment and public investment within the area bounded generally by Blue Ridge Boulevard on the north, the Grandview city limits on the east, the Belton city limits on the south and State Line Road on the west. (Case Number CD-CPC-2020-00015)

 

WHEREAS, on September 11, 2008, the City Council by Resolution No. 080801 adopted the Martin City Area Plan as a guide for the future development and public investment; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council amended said plan on January 14, 2010, through the adoption of Resolution No. 091020; was amended on June 15, 2017, through the adoption of Resolution No. 170432; was amended on June 27, 2019, through the adoption of Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 190481; was amended on July 19, 2018, through the adoption of Resolution No. 180489; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review, the City Planning and Development Department deemed it appropriate to repeal the Martin City Area Plan and approve the Martin City Area Plan as a guide for the future development, redevelopment, and public investment within the area bounded generally by Blue Ridge Boulevard on the north, Grandview city limits on the east, the Belton city limits on the south and State Line Road on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, legal notice of the public hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on January 31, 2020, in conformity with state and local laws; and

 

  WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such repeal of the existing plan and approval of the new plan on February 18, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on February 18, 2020, recommend approval of the proposed repeal of the Martin City Area Plan and approval of the Martin City Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

 Section A. That the Martin City Area Plan is hereby adopted as a guide for the future development, redevelopment, and public investment within the area generally bounded by Blue Ridge Boulevard on the north, the Grandview city limits on the east, the Belton city limits on the south and State Line Road on the west. A copy of the Martin City Area Plan is attached hereto, in substantial form, and is hereby approved.

 

Section B. That the Martin City Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed Martin City Area Plan hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
