COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE
FOR ORDINANCE NO. 180505
Appropriating $1,426,643.55 from
the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements fund to the N.W.
Prairie View Rd. and South of 64th Street Improvements Projects; designating
requisitioning authority; and recognizing this ordinance as having an
accelerated effective date.
WHEREAS, on
March 6, 2008, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 080150 modifying the
City’s Major Street Plan in the vicinity of I-29 and N.W. Prairie View Road
between N.W. 62nd Street and N.W. 72nd Street; and
WHEREAS, on July
30, 2009, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 090632 authorizing the Director
of Public Works to execute a Municipal/Road Relinquishment Agreement with the
Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission which required the City to
relocate N.W. Prairie View Road north of Route 45; and
WHEREAS, on
March 21, 2013, the City Council passed Committee Substitute for Resolution No.
130106 allocating the City’s share of Platte County’s special road and bridge
tax receipts for calendar years 2014 and 2015 for improvements to N.W. Prairie
View Road North of Route 45 with an estimated $655,250.00 per year for a total
of $1,310,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the
City’s share of Platte County’s special road and bridge tax receipts for Fiscal
Years 2014 and 2015 were collected by the City in the Capital Improvements Fund
in the amount totaling $1,426,643.55; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the sum of $1,426,643.55 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements
Fund in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund:
19-3090-898012-B-89008182 NW
Prairie View Rd $1,426,643.55
Section 2. That
the Director of Public Works is hereby designated requisitioning authority for
Account No. 19-3090-898012-B-89008182.
Section 3. That
this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of
a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated
effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and
shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
