ORDINANCE NO. 130707

 

Reducing an appropriation in the amount of $731,703.00 in the Sixth Council District Contingency in the Capital Improvements Fund; appropriating that amount to the Longview Tract – Flowrider account (Project No. 70140007); and designating requisitioning authority.

WHEREAS, the October 16, 2001, Aquatics Master Plan was prepared and submitted to the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners by Bucher, Willis and Ratliff Corporation in association with Counsilman / Hunsaker & Associates, Inc. and ETC / Leisure Vision; and

WHEREAS, the Aquatics Master Plan determined that the 6th Council District and more specifically the Hickman Mills area was deficient in the area of aquatics; and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department, with the assistance of the design firm Confluence, has developed an aquatics master plan that has received the approval of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department, with the assistance of the 6th Council District, has constructed three of the five phases defined by the aquatics master plan; and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department will be the project administrator for this fourth phase known as THE BAY Aquatic Center Flowrider Addition Project; and

WHEREAS, the improvements of this fourth phase will include the Flowrider aquatic feature, concrete seatwalls, sunshades, and concrete terraced seating; and

WHEREAS, this ordinance will transfer $731,703.00 from the Sixth Council District Contingency in the Capital Improvements Fund to the Parks and Recreation Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an appropriation in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby reduced in the following amount:

14-3090-898600-B-89009996 Sixth District Contingency $731,703.00

Section 2. That an appropriation in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby increased in the following amount:

14-3090-708609-B-70140007 Longview Tract - Flowrider $731,703.00

Section 3. That the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 14-3090-708609.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
