ORDINANCE NO. 001291

 

Authorizing execution of an Option to Renew a Lease Agreement with K.C. Partners for a term of one year at an annual rate of $41,534.86, for office space, utilities, janitorial and common charges for a building located at 324 East 11th Street, 25th Floor, Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, the City pursuant to Ordinance No. 981366 passed on November 23, 1998, authorized the Director of City Development to enter into a lease agreement for a term of one year with an option to renew for three periods of one additional year each; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires to continue utilizing 4,206 square feet of office space for use by the City Development Department and FOCUS staff; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Department of City Development is hereby authorized to exercise the Second Option to Renew, on behalf of Kansas City, the Lease Agreement executed with K.C. Partners for lease of 4,206 square feet of office space in a building located at 324 East 11th Street, 25th Floor, for a period commencing December 1, 2000 and ending November 30, 2001, at an annual rate of $41,534.86 to be paid from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 01-100-064-2324-B. A copy of the Lease Agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and is hereby approved.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
