Accepting a Missouri Warranty Deed from Rebecca Erickson
and Marsha E. Thompson and Eric N. Thompson conveying to the City of Kansas
City, Missouri, certain property in Platte County, Missouri, all for public use
as an addition to Line Creek Greenway and directing the City Clerk to file
same.
WHEREAS, the Council finds and determines that by
Resolution No. 23297 adopted by the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners
on February 20, 1996, certain lands were acquired through donation, for public
use for park purposes as an addition to Line Creek Greenway in Kansas City,
Platte County, Missouri, and said Board has now recommended to the Council that
the deed hereinafter described be accepted for public use; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the following listed deed, recorded
in the office of the Director of Records for Platte County, Missouri, under the
instrument number and in the book and page indicated, is hereby accepted for
public use for park purposes in accordance with Article III, Section 58 of the
Charter:

and said property is legally described as follows:
A tract of land located in the Southwest Quarter of
Section 16 and the Northwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 51, Range 33,
Kansas City, Platte County, Missouri, being more particularly described as
follows: Commencing at the southwest corner of said Southwest Quarter;
thence South 89 04'30" East along the south line of said Southwest
Quarter a distance of 715.00 feet to the point of beginning of the tract
of land to be described; thence North 00 36'02" East parallel with
the west line of said Southwest Quarter a distance of 573.05 feet; thence
North 89 04'30" West parallel with said south line a distance of
365.00 feet; thence North 00 36'02" East parallel with said west line
a distance of 890.62 feet to a point on the south line of Platte Brooke
North Fifth Plat, according to the recorded plat thereof; thence South 89
50'16" East along said south line a distance of 249.99 feet to the
southeast corner of said Platte Brooke North Fifth Plat; thence North 00
36'02" East along the east line of said Platte Brooke North Fifth
Plat, a distance of 1,134.90 feet to a point on the north line of said
Southwest Quarter; thence South 89 50'16" East along said north line
a distance of 200.00 feet; thence South 00 36'02" West parallel with the
west line of said Southwest Quarter a distance of 1,500.00 feet; thence
South 19 25'30" East a distance of 1,932.23 feet; thence North 68
04'30" West a distance of 930.00 feet; thence North 36 55'30"
East a distance of 200.00 feet; thence North 00 55'30" East
perpendicular to the north line of said Northwest Quarter a distance of 212.00
feet to the point of beginning. Contains 28.5 acres more or less.
Section 2. That Resolution No. 23297 evidences the
intent of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners to accept such real
property for park purposes.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to record a copy of this ordinance in the office of the Director of Records for
Platte County, Missouri, as evidence of the acceptance of the herein described
property by the City for public use purposes.
