ORDINANCE NO. 001044
Authorizing
the Director of Health to execute a one year Lease Agreement with nine one-year
renewal options and a Tenant Improvement Agreement with KC Can! for the use of
City-owned property located at 24th Street Terrace and Campbell to build and
operate a simulated to scale model street scene that uses an interactive
approach to teach children basic street safety skills and recognizing an
emergency.

IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to execute a one year
Lease Agreement with nine one-year renewal options with KC Can! for the leasing
of City property generally located at 24th Street Terrace and Campbell (148
(north side) x 386 (west side) x 147 (south side) x 386 (east side) of the west
portion of Plat No. 2199, Parcel No. 231) in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri,
whereby KC Can! will use the property for building and operating a simulated
to scale model street scene that uses an interactive approach to teach children
basic street safety skills for a term of one year with the City having the
unilateral option to renew each year for up to nine additional years for a
rental rate of $10.00 per year.
Section
2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to execute a Tenant
Improvement Agreement with KC Can! that authorizes KC Can! to build a
simulated to scale model street scene. Copies of the Lease and Tenant
Improvement Agreement are on file in the City Clerks Office.
Section
3. That this ordinance, making provision for the immediate preservation of
public property and safety, is declared to be an emergency measure within the
meaning of Section 15, Article II of the Charter, and shall take effect in
accordance with this section.
