COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 110382

Authorizing the City Manager to utilize $100,000.00 from the Youth Employment Fund to address summer employment opportunities for people ages 15 and older.

WHEREAS, the General Fund dollars will be matched with private dollars; and

WHEREAS, this summer employment program will encompass recruitment, selection, interviews and placement of 150 people; and

WHEREAS, this program will extend to all 15 school districts and charter schools and will supplement City departments to meet basic deliverables; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Council authorizes the City Manager utilize $100,000.00 to address summer employment opportunities for people ages 15 and older.

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to expend up to $100,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to the following account to satisfy the cost of this contract:

12-2440-102571-619080 Youth Employment $100,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
